General Board PSICOLOGY FORUMS CHARTER: These forums are for those who accept the validity of the phenomena discussed here and want to discuss them without being side tracked by debates about whether the phenomena are real. There are many other forums on the internet for such debates. Blanket skepticism, personal attacks, general unproven accusations of fraud and snide comments are inappropriate for these forums.
Disagreement is allowed but should be expressed politely and in a manner that will not discourage people from freely discussing their ideas and opinions. If you are open to many of the phenomena discussed here but have reservations about some of them, you can discuss your objections but please be polite and focus on the evidence or lack of it.
Determination of what is inappropriate is left to the sole discretion of the administrators. These forums were started by a group of people who share a common idea of what they expect so if you are new to the group you will have to accept those values or go to any of the many other discussion forums on the internet. Forums Management Discuss the organization and usage of the forums. Do we need another forum? What is the best way to find the latest posts? How do we handle charter violations? Etc.
Consciousness Studies Is mind irreducible? Can materialism explain consciousness? What is free will? Does the brain produce, transmit, or filter consciousness? Can a computer program be conscious?
Miscellaneous and Off Topic If we don't have a forum for a topic, or it's unrelated to the paranormal (eg. other branches of science, politics, economics) and you want discuss it with other members of the forums, you can do it here. (Just keep the conversation within the rules set out in the charter.)
